Dr. Richard E.Roth is originally from  Philadelphia where he attended medical school.  After graduation he was commissioned as an officer in the US Army Medical Corps, where he completed his transition internship and served three years as a US Army Flight Surgeon.

Upon completing active duty in the military, Dr. Roth chose to specialize in ophthalmic surgery. He received his residency training at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. After graduating from residency, Dr. Roth accepted a fellowship position in the ophthalmic sub-specialty of Cornea and Refractive Surgery with Dr. Soloway as his preceptorDr. Roth spent additional time in fellowship training for Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Roth has gained expertise and certification in several areas of refractive surgery including LASIK and PRK (LADARVision and Visx lasers), INtacs (corneal ring segments), SRP (surgical reversal of presbyopia) and ICL's (intraocular lenses).

Dr. Roth works closely with Dr. Soloway performing and assisting in surgery. He is extensively involved in clinical research and the management of LASIK patients He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Sugery and the International Society of Refractive Surgery.  Dr. Roth lives in New York with his wife and two children.
