What is Crystalens ?
The Crystalens is a revolutionary new breakthrough in vision enhancement. It is the first and only intraocular lens (IOL) replacement for cataracts that focuses like the eye's natural lens, allowing for continuous vision up close, far away and all distances in between. Unlike standard IOLs, the Crystalens can restore full functional vision and in most cases eliminate the need for glasses and contacts for everyday tasks, allowing patients to see well and look their best. With Crystalens, for the first time, cataract patients will have the opportunity to potentially experience the freedom of seeing well at all distances without glasses.
How Does It Work?
By using the eye's muscle to move the lens backwards and forwards naturally in response to the brain's desire to see at different distances, Crystalens enables the eye to focus continuously and seamlessly through a range of distances, including near, far and everything in between. Patients experience the same vision they had when they were younger, for most without the inconvenience of corrective lenses.
Market:
The Crystalens is ideally suited for men and women aged 50 to 64 years of age with cataracts who want to not only restore clarity in their vision but restore their near, intermediate and distance vision.

Product Specifications:
§ The Crystalens model AT-45 is a foldable lens made from a proprietary solid silicone, Biosil™. The lens has modified plate haptics with a biconvex optic. The lens is hinged adjacent to the optic and has small looped polymide haptics.
§ Overall length: 11.5 mm; Biconvex optic is 4.5 mm in diameter
§ Implanted using standard small incision techniques through a 3.5 to 3.7 mm incision.\
