Numerous imaging studies of the retina, nerve fiber layer, and optic nerve are used to study the effects of glaucoma, and the effectiveness of its treatment. All studies depend on a clear transmission of polarized and non-polarized light through the cornea. In order to calibrate these studies for patients who have glaucoma and have had LASIK, a number of NORMAL volunteer eyes are being studied. The study consists of the imaging of the eye before LASIK, and at the one week and one month post-operative exams. These tests will be done at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in conjunction with the research department of Glaucoma Associates. If you are interested in participating in this study, please call us at the number below.
